The Chesterfield canal towpath is known as the Cuckoo Way it is a lovely quiet place with plenty of wildlife to see on your journey.
At Tapton Lock you will find a café with outdoor seating area and accessible toilets.
We have scooters for tracks and trails for people with mobility difficulties to explore traffic-free trails, bridleways and byways connect countryside's and quiet villages through green hills and rugged open moorland accessible for manual chairs, mobility scooters and anyone who wants easy access to Derbyshire Countryside.

Poolsbrook Country Park has woodlands, lakes, and meadows, play areas for children, cafe, picnic sites and four miles of trails which are easy access for mobility scooters.
The park is home to many forms of wildlife and the Coffee Stop Cafe in the Pavilion.
Holmebrook Valley Country Park is a large country park on the outshirts of Chesterfield with a beautiful lake, which is home to different kinds of wildlife.
There are trails through and around the park. You will find picnic tables at the Linacre road car park and also at the lake.
Rother Valley Country Park is a country park in the metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, close to Rotherham's border with Sheffield and Derbyshire. It covers 3 square kilometres, has four artificial lakes, recreational activities and nature reserves.
Journey around the ponds at Hardwick and see what wildlife we can discover. With birds to spot and trees to identify with lots of fun activities on your family adventure.

Peter Fidler Nature Reserve was once part of the Midland Railway taking passengers from Chesterfield to Mansfield. Now you can enjoy spending time in the Doe Lea Valley along side nature reserves and the countryside sites.
